The following is included in a typical ink refill kits ink bottles, syringes and detailed instructions. Some kits include an air balance clip for balancing the air inside the ink cartridge to ensure proper drainage. Some kits also include hand-drill tool to make a hole inthe top of the empty cartridge.

Filling process

1. To begin the process of filling the syringe with an ink color on a sink or more sheets of paper to avoid any disturbance. Different printers contain different amounts of ink. In most Epson printers the black cartridge holds approximately 17 ml and the color cartridges hold approximately 8 ml. See the instructions supplied with the ink refill kits to see how yourcartridges can hold.

2. Before inserting the needle, make a small hole in the top of the cartridge (one for each color chamber). The hole is at the top of the cartridge with the label. Just push the needle through the hole and push to the bottom of the cartridge toward the exit hole. It 'important to fill the cartridge slowly to avoid foaming of the ink and the introduction of air into the room.

3. It is not necessary to seal the refillholes because there are already air holes on the top of the cartridge.

4. The ink used may not be delivered in the bottle. You need to clean the syringe with water and dry in the proper way to do the same procedure for other cartridges or for future use. You can also label each syringe for the different colors so that each syringe is used only with a color.

5. Once you insert the cartridge into the printer, run the cleaning cycle 1 to 3 times. If theregaps in the press, run the cleaning cycle again.

Do not Forget

There are some things to remember when filling the cartridge. It must be completed before the cartridge is empty to prevent the House of drying and clogging. It is also a good idea to leave the cartridge in the printer sit for a few hours (or overnight), so that the pressure in the cartridge will stabilize.

Some printers, like the new Epson models, have a greenchip on their ink cartridges, which is visible looking at the cartridge. They are often referred to as "Intellidge" cartridges. The chip controls the frequency of the cartridge is used and allows the computer to know when the cartridge may be low or empty. Until you reset the chip, refilling the cartridge with ink from a refill kit will not be a problem. An instrument reset can be used to restore the memory chip. This allows the printerrecognize the cartridge as full which makes it possible to print with a cartridge recycled.

Filling the ink cartridge is easy to clean, good for the environment and good for your pocket.
